Thursday 2 December at 8pm GMT via Zoom
Mince pies have been part of the British Christmas since about the C16th but they are not part of Christmas everywhere in the world. Whatever country you come from and wherever you come from in the world we would like to invite you a fun interactive evening making mince pies.
How it works!
You bring the ingredients and Hilary our oxford trained pastry chef will bring the knowhow! Hilary will provide a step-by-step demo and after each step you will be invited into virtual breakout groups to chat and attempt to follow her guidance. If you get stuck call for help and we can whisk Hilary into your breakout group to provide personal instructions. It is a brilliant way to catch up with your friends from anywhere in the world who you haven’t seen for a while. Want to come on your own – no problem we can mix you in with a few others and you can make some new friends.
Once we have put the mince pies in the oven we can all sit back with a glass of wine or a cup of coffee and Molly will share her observations on the difference between an American and British Christmas and why she thinks a baby born over 2 thousand years ago is still having such an impact in so many countries around the world.
